Guerilla Union, the independent live events company behind world-class platforms such as ROCK THE BELLS and PAID DUES, has announced the return of the annual CYPRESS HILL SMOKEOUT 2010 Saturday, October 16 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, CA. The mind-opening music festival and cannabis expo made its celebrated return in 2009. The CYPRESS HILL SMOKEOUT is back with its most eclectic and impressive line-up to date. Making their only North-American appearance, Grammy-nominated, alternative rock band, Incubus will headline. Celebrated for his diverse and multi-genre blending musical style International musician, Manu Chao makes his first US return since 2008. Additional performance highlights include Cypress Hill, Deadmau5 “unhooked”, MGMT, Slightly Stoopid, Nas and Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, Atmosphere and more.

The CYPRESS HILL SMOKEOUT is a world-renowned platform that harnesses the power of music to celebrate self-expression, individuality and the freedom to choose one’s own way of life. The festival will showcase over 20 acts on 3 stages. “The Smoke Out is one of Guerilla Union’s most successful live music artist partnerships and this year’s show may be our most important and historic ever. Following their landmark performance of Black Sunday in its entirety at last year’s event, Cypress Hill will make history again. The group will perform their ground-breaking, debut self-titled album, Cypress Hill for the first time in their career. The two-time platinum album was released in 1991, which included chart-topping singles, “Stoned Is The Way Of The Walk”, “How I Could Just Kill A Man”, “Latin Lingo” and “Hand On The Pump”. Described by Rolling Stone (10/3/91) as “innovative and engaging”, Cypress Hill catapulted the group into major critical and commercial success and has since made influential albums lists by leading publications including, Rolling Stone, Spin Magazine and The Source. Another major line-up announcement will be made this week, before on-sale. Following the successful integration of the first-ever cannabis expo at the festival in 2009, the CYPRESS HILL SMOKEOUT Medical Marijuana Expo will serve as the ultimate destination for advocates, businesses, consumers and like-minded individuals to congregate and interact. The expo will host leading hemp industry exhibits featuring activists, cannabis education and legal workshops. An array of expert panel discussions, guest speakers and celebrity appearances will be featured though out the day. A 4:20 movie night will feature classic cannabis-themed films. Fans will also be treated to a Cypress Hill meet and greet, massive munchie gardens and a diverse lifestyle vendor village. On Tuesday, May 18, 2010, the Unconventional Foundation for Autism and MTV featured Current Trends Hair Studio and Strikes Da Barber provided free hair cuts to Autistic and other Special Needs children in an effort to raise awareness for Autism and Medical Cannabis.  Mieko Hester Perez, founder of the Unconventional Foundation for Autism and mother of Joey, organized the event. Supporters in attendance included Chronic Tacos (non-medicated!), VH1 Reality Show "Tool Academy's", Charm Brittain, Chadd McKeen with his lovely staff of ladies from the Otherside Farms, and Ajnag.

The Unconventional Foundation for Autism & Current Trends Hair Studio in Orange County, CA will be providing boys with special needs free hair cuts from 10am – 4pm Tuesday May 18th. Mieko Hester-Perez founder of The Unconventional Foundation for Autism has vowed to help parents, not just through her advocacy of the controversial treatment of using medical marijuana to save her son’s life but, also her mission to “Pay it Forward”. On Saturday April 24th, 2010, legendary West Coast hip hop artist, Warren G, known for his hit single with Nate Dogg "Regulate," and for signing Snoop Dogg to Death Row Records, regulated the THC Expose 2010 showing his support for the cannabis and hemp movement.

If you were at the Cypress Hill Smoke out then you already know how epic the event was. What more could you ask for... On March 20th, the Aqua Lounge donated their upscale Beverly Hills venue to a fundraiser event for The Unconvetional Foundation for Autism, a non-profit raising awareness and researching alternative treatments for Autism especially through the use of cannabis. The UF4A was started by Mieko Perez, the mother of 10 year old Joey Perez who was diagnosed with the disorder at 16 months.

With more than 1 in 110 children being affected by the Autism, it has become the fastest growing serious developmental disability in the United States with no medical detection or cure.  It was when Joey was at near death due to extreme weight loss that Mieko turned to not so conventional medical marijuana based brownies to save his life.

Big Ups to DJ Green Lantern and hip hop artists Planet Asia, Krondon, and the Strong Arm Steady Crew for performing at Hempcon  2010 Medical Marijuana Expo in Los Angeles.  Big Ups to AJNAG's entertainment partner, Klub Kush, for sponsoring the performance.  The fellas took the set on Saturday afternoon following the main event's speakers.  They elevated the Los Angeles Convention Center with dynamic 1’s and 2’s and potent lyrical flows, hitting heavy with the urban cannabis presence.

In Los Angeles this Weekend and want to kick it with the cannabis industry? Check out the premier of the Hemp Con Medical Marijuana Show at the LA Convention Center Friday-Sunday February 19-21 2010.  The event is being put on by Mega Productions and sponsored by Beverly Hill NORML 90210 .  Key speakers include Cheryl Shuman and Frederic Rhodes of Beverly Hills National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML).  HempCon is the second Cannabis Expo to come to Los Angeles. 

In July 2010, the THC Expo Los Angeles was harvested by veteran Cannabis / Marijuana advocate Todd McCormack making history as the first major Cannabis Industry Expo in the United States.  Hemp Con is another example on how mainstream the cannabis industry is becoming.

On Saturday, January 30th 2010, Oaksterdam University Los Angeles graduated its second harvest of cannabis freedom fighters. The ceremony took place at the West Hollywood Parks and Recreation center. The event began with a video message from Oaksterdam University’s Founder, Richard Lee. Lee congratulated and praised the former students for being part of what is not just a learning institute but also a movement that Lee himself is so passionate about. Richard Lee along with co-proponent Jeff Jones recently turned in almost 700,000 signatures supporting their ballot initiative Tax Cannabis 2010. Learn more at www.taxcannabis.org.
