Rooted in the high mountains of the Sierras, Tim Ziegler, medical cannabis collective operator of the Casa Collective and freedom fighter of Susanville, California gets ready for cannabis harvest season. Tim gave Ajnag the honor to film and photograph his garden before being pulled. My good friend and I cruised from Los Angeles to San Francisco, trekking through Lassen State Forest and finally arriving in Susanville, also known as prison town USA. There are two correctional facilities in this town of 13,000, where the number of inmates outnumbers the cities non-inmate population.

Susanville welcomes you to the right with the Casa Collective ---->

Tim is an old school grower with a very green thumb. He has been cultivating cannabis for over 20 years and actively involved with the medical movement since the passing of Proposition 215. He is an ambassador of the Medical Cannabis Association and Clean Green Organic Certified Grower. When we arrived he immediately said “mi casa es su casa” opening his many jars of finely cured exotic medical cannabis herbs.

Tim opened the Casa Collective in 2004 in a former Sheriffs Station, but it was unlawfully raided shortly thereafter where state authorities seized an entire crop. He fired back with a civil suit and won. The judge ordered that a $100,000 restitution be given back to the collective in compensation for the lost crop. Today the Ca

sa Collective is an active member of the Susanville community, giving back to local charities and education programs, providing jobs, and stimulating the local economy. “I average $50,000 a year in soil to the local nursery,” Tim proudly acknowledges. During harvest season Casa Collective employees nearly 20 people and supports many families.

The Casa Collective is a verified provider of DJ Short and BOG (Bushy Old Grower) genetics, whom are among the most respected breeders in the game. Varieties for the 2009 harvest include: Blueberry, Veniluna, Cocoa Kush, Flo, Lifesaver, Bogglegum, Grape Punch, and Bog Bubble. The 2009 yield was an average of 1-2 pounds per plant with the tallest reaching nearly 9 Feet!  On the nights before harvest, Casa Collective is on high security looking out for crop jackers. You will find Tim and an ex-navy seal on watch all night. They alertly observe through night vision to make sure the crop is kept safe and medicine preserved for the collective’s patients. Evil perpetrators beware. These guys do not play around. So don’t even think about it.

Check back next year for another hearty and potent harvest! Video version cultivating soon...

DJ Shorts Cocoa Kush.

Best when cured for 6 months to a year. A few months ago, DJ gave me a sample of some Cocoa Kush he had finely cured for a year. It was UNREAL. I am still cherishing one last nugget like a fine wine!

The leaves start to yellow as the fruit ripens...

Thank you. Come again next season!
