Under the Los Angeles medical marijuana ordinance, only those dispensaries that registered with the city by Nov. 13, 2007, will be allowed to operate. City officials found that 137 of the original 186 are still open. After the ordinance takes effect on June 7, those dispensaries have six months to come into compliance with its requirements.
